BABIES ARE AN INVASION

BabyInvasion

“Babies are an invasion, all right,” said Reverend Feddes.

“They’re an invasion of love into our selfishness,
an invasion of joy into our dullness,
an invasion of mystery into our predictability,
an invasion of purpose into our aimlessness,
an invasion of wonder into our boredom,
an invasion of life into our lifelessness.

Babies are an invasion of blessing, promise, and future.”

Who wouldn’t want to have a baby?

ONLY THAT WHICH IS GOOD

OnlyThatWhichIsGood

God is good. It is one of His attributes and He wants us to be full of goodness too. Goodness should also be part of our family lives. I notice the word “good” is used twice in Proverbs 31, one in regard to marriage, and one in regard to the home.

Firstly, Proverbs 31:12 says: “She will do him (her husband) good and not evil all the days of her life.” My husband reads this Scripture every Friday evening at our Shabbat meal as he reads through this chapter. Sometimes he will say, “She will do him good and not evil some of the days of her life.” He waits to hear if we noticed if he has read incorrectly. Someone will usually interrupt and say, “No, it is “ALL the days of her life.”

Secondly, Proverbs 31:18 says: “She perceiveth that her merchandise is good.” This particularly refers to the gain from her home industry. But it also encompasses everything she puts her hand to in her home. It relates to everything she purchases and brings into her home.

Dear wives and mothers, we need to keep this vision in our hearts for everything we do. Even when we go shopping. We will only bring back into our homes that which is good. We’ll only purchase good food. Food that nourishes the body. We won’t waste money purchasing devitalized foods such as white flour and white sugar (which is a poison) and packets and tins of food with corn syrup and loads of additives which are mostly cancer forming. Do you read the labels? Sometimes I see something interesting but once I read the label, back in goes on the shelf!
We won’t bring home junky stuff that clutters the home but has no value. We will fill our homes with lovely music, good books, beautiful pictures. Everything that is good.

We are so used to this word good that we take it for granted. But do you know the biblical meaning of good (tov)? It will take a paragraph of adjectives and adverbs to give you the full meaning!

Here we go: agreeable, beautiful, beneficial, better, best, bountiful, cheerful, excellent, ethically right, fair, fairer, fine, glad, gracious, happy, happiness, joyful, kind, kindness, loving, merry, merciful, pleasant to the senses, pleasant to the higher nature, precious, prosperous, rich, sweet, upright, valuable, and very good.

Wow! This gives us a wonderful vision for our homes, doesn’t it?

We won’t waste our time on peripheral things; this life is preparing for eternity.

We won’t waste money on fleeting stuff; we only bring into our homes that which is beneficial and beautiful.

We won’t waste our time eating at fast food restaurants; we are creating family bonding time at home at our own table with all our children around us.

We won’t waste our time on trifling entertainment for ourselves; we give our time to productivity that will bless our household.

We won’t speak downgrading and negative words; we will fill our home with cheerful, kind, sweet, and encouraging words.

Each new day, let’s think of something special and good we can do for our husband. Let’s think of something lovely and good we can do to bring gain and blessing to our homes and continually make them HOME SWEET HOME.

Have a lovely day, Nancy Campbell

WHY DO I HOMESCHOOL

WHY DO I HOMESCHOOL
By Katie LaPierre
If you are homeschooling, I am sure you get lots of comments.

Them: "You can't protect your children forever."

Me: "Yeah, I know that. But can't I protect them while they are still children?"

Them: "You went to public school, and you turned out fine!"

Me: "Yeah but who knows how I would have turned out if I could have been home schooled? How much more would I know about God’s word?"

Them: "Why don't you let your children be a light to the world?"

Me: "They most certainly are! I often remind them before we go in somewhere that they are Christian children and representing Christ when they go in. But I don't want to send my lambs alone into the wolves until I have taught them about how the wolf thinks and what the wolf wants. I want to equip my sheep to know how to fight this battle before I send them into it."

Them: "Homeschooling won't save your children."

Me: " Yeah, I know. Only Jesus saves."

Them: " What about socialization?"

Me: " Have you seen the agenda that is being socialized in the public school system? No thanks. What even is socialization? Is it just to be social? My children get plenty of that with my discernment and direction behind it."

Them: "Homeschool children are weird."

Me: "Their mother is plenty weird in her own ways. Second, I knew a lot of weird public school children when I was in public school. Children are weird if their parents are weird. Lastly, if you mean different when you say weird, I certainly don't mind if my children stand out and look a lot different than the world."

Them: "Ugh I would hate to be with my children all day. Better you than me."
Me: "From the way you say that maybe your children would hate to be with you all day?"

I get one shot to parent my children to the best of my ability, and I view it as a stewardship. I homeschool my children as part of that stewardship and I hope and pray that God uses it mightily in their lives to draw them to Himself and to teach them about Himself. But at the same time, I fully understand that they are free moral agents and will decide who they want to follow, whether the world or Christ. I will do my best to teach them about both.

Why do you homeschool?

MAKE FAMILY TIME HAPPEN

FamilyTime

Here’s a good question to ask when you are making a decision regarding your family:

If it will strengthen your family, go for it.

If it will fragment your family, don’t do it.

Always seek to do only that which will strengthen and build up your family life.

WHY THE WAIT?

WhyTheWait

Why do couples wait? It has only been a week or so. Not only did I meet a woman who never wants children, but I met others who are still waiting to have children.

“We feel we must wait a couple of years to have time to get to know one another.”

We need to get our house built first, so we have everything in order before we start a family.”

Of course, these statements sound very wise. But they are not biblical. And sadly even many pastors and ministers reiterate the same rhetoric.

How refreshing it was to hear Charlie Kirk say over and over again, not only to churches, but to the whole world: “Get married young and have more children than you can afford.”

Was he saying reckless words? No. They are God’s word. And they are not reckless. In fact, isn’t it amazing, that people who say they are “Bible believing believers” discard the very first words that God ever spoke into the ears of man: “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth.” Those were the very first words God ever spoke. They come from His heart. They are His plan. And He has never reneged them.

Now, it is a true fact, that if a couple wait until they have the money they think they need before they have a baby, that they most probably will never have a baby. It is a rare minority of people who have all the money they think they need to have a baby.

However, we don’t have a baby because we have enough money. We have a baby because God wants to bless us, because we are obedient to His Word, and because He wants to bring His image into the earth. And when we open our lives to have a baby, God miraculously provides! This is how it works: the baby first, and then the provision. Not the other way around.

In Deuteronomy 28, the blessing chapter, God states the first blessing which is the “blessing of the womb.” Then He continues with all the added blessings of abundant crops and herds and flocks and “blessed shall be thy basket and they store.” All these blessings come AFTER the blessing of the womb!

It comes down to whether we truly believe the God of the Bible? Or a god of our own limited thinking? Do we believe in a God who cannot provide for our first child or maybe only one or two children? Or do we believe in the God of the Bible who miraculously provides for as many children as God plans to give us? We dare not bring Him down to our level.

BUILDING NOTHINGNESS OR BUILDING A LEGACY

BuildingNothingness

I’m aware that I live in a society where there is an adversity to having children. And yet, I am still surprised when I find it. At a function yesterday I spoke to a beautiful young married woman. She had a little dog sitting on her lap, and knowing she was from another state, I realized that her little dog must be very special to bring her with them.

“Is this your little child?” I asked.

Yes,” she replied. “She is my daughter.”

“Do you have children at home?” I enquired further. “Oh know, this is the only one we want.”

“Surely you’d like to have children some time,” I asked.

“No, never,” she answered. This is all we want.” All her nurturing hormones (which God has freely given to mothers to nurture babies and raise children) are being poured out on a pet.

Saddened in my heart, I spoke to everyone at the table saying, “As an older woman I’d just love to say that we as women were created for the purpose of bringing forth children. It is our destiny and the greatest blessing of life. We were made for this glory.

I thought to myself. These young couples are not looking to the future. A small dog can live up to 16 years and then they are gone. What then? I have children who are already in their sixties, and they have children, and their children have children. I have a legacy of life all around me.

Currently we have living in our home an older gentleman for whom we are caring. He has never married. Therefore, in his older age, he doesn’t have a wife or children. He has siblings (older like him) who are not in a position to care for him. And so he has no one in life but us.

Family life is the antidote to loneliness. The bigger the family, the more enjoyment, fun, adventure, fellowship, and togetherness. Plus, bringing forth babies into the world is the projenation of the nation. Without the womb of women, all life would eventually come to a halt.

Enjoy your precious babies and children today,

Blessings from Nancy Campbell

TO OUR FUTURE CHILDREN

OurFutureChildren
(by Katie LaPierre)
To my future children: You matter as much as the children in this picture. Interesting to think about, isn't it?

Why don't our future children matter as much as our present children?
Why aren't we willing to lay down our life for our future children like we are for our present children?

Why aren't we willing to give of ourselves for our future children like we do our present children?

Why don't we care about our future children like we do about our present children?

At one point every child in this picture was a future child.

The cashier at the store had something to say! I had brought eight out of our nine children with me (we now have 11). "That's enough mom!" I replied: "Each one is so special." And it's true.

What am I supposed to say to my future children? "Nope, sorry, you're not as worthy of life as my children who came first. Sorry! Bad luck I guess!"

Future children are just as worthy as my present children are worthy. I say yes to them and welcome them as God gives them.

THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE

The womb is a woman’s glory,
It is what makes her most unlike a man!
Woman, how divine your mission
Here upon our natal sod!
Keep, oh, keep the young heart open
Always to the breath of God!
All true trophies of the ages
Are from mother-love impearled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rocks the world.

WHAT KIND OF MARRIAGE DO YOU WANT?

WhatKindMarriageUWant
A young lady asked Colin and me the question, “What’s the answer to a good marriage?”

My husband answered, “The Lord.” A good answer but I had to add more. My answer to that young lady was, “It is more than that!” How could I say that? Isn’t God enough? Yes, of course He is, but sadly there are many who love the Lord but do not understand His ways regarding marriage and family. They may acknowledge they love God, but their lives follow the world instead of the Bible.

There was a time when young girls could usually trust that if they married a “Christian” they would have a happy marriage. That is not the case today. It is not enough for a young man to be a Christian. The question is: what kind of a Christian is he?

There are so many Christian young men today who are not prepared for marriage. They may be in their mid-twenties, but they are still not ready to take on responsibility. They are not ready to embrace children into their marriage. They are not ready to provide for a wife to stay home and care for these children. They are not even ready to settle down! In other words, they still haven’t entered adulthood.

Of course, it takes both the man and his wife to make the marriage. Apart from the foundation of understanding the purpose for marriage and being ready to take responsibility, my question to a young couples and even old couples is: “What kind of marriage do you want?”

“Do you want an average marriage?” Well, just be a normal couple and maybe you’ll scrape through.

“Do you want an above-average marriage?” That will take more work. You won’t be living to yourself. You will not only delight to love your husband but to honor him and show your love tangibly to him in myriads of ways. You will purposefully build into your marriage each new day.

Or “Do you want an amazing marriage?” That means you’ve got to be amazing! Don’t wait for your husband to be amazing. You be the one. Think of how you can make his life amazing. Think of how you can honor him. Think of how you can serve him. Think of how you can intoxicate him. The more you pour out on him, the more he will respond.

Blessings to you today,

Nancy Campbell

IT COMES BACK TO US, MOTHERS

GodsWordTransforms
Yesterday I talked about how it is necessary for young people aspiring to rise into Charlie Kirk’s shoes to realize that they must first be prepared. It is so great to be filled with fervor. Great things don’t happen without passion! But they must also be filled with God’s truth to have the “tongue of the learned.” The word in the Hebrew is “limmud” and means “taught, trained, skilled.” It means to be a disciple or a student.

Dear mothers, this word hits back at us too. It’s the same word used in Isaiah 54:13: “And all thy children shall be TAUGHT (limmud) of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.”

That means that God wants all our children to be trained and skilled in God’s word. He wants them to be so accustomed to it that it is part of their thinking and their life. It comes out of their mouths (Isaiah 59:21). Dear mother, can I ask this question: is this the testimony of your children?

In my communication with many people today, I find that most of them are not accustomed to God’s word. I’m not talking about secular young people, but homeschooled young people. They are not familiar with God’s word. They don’t really know it. They don’t even know basic Scriptures let alone the biblical understanding on the basic things of life.

It is a very grieving statistic from George Barna that only four percent of Christians have a true biblical worldview! Dearest mothers, this comes back to us.

We are the ones who are responsible to teach our children, not just a Sunday School idea of God but to be trained and skilled in God’s word and a biblical worldview. Your mothering is not just caring physically for your children, but it is a fulltime job penetrating God’s laws into their minds and hearts. You can’t afford to be doing it part-time.

I read this morning that God wants us to teach our children when “sitting in your home.” (Deuteronomy 11:19). That’s teaching from godly parents, the opposite to “sitting in the seat of the scornful” in a public school where they are influenced with humanism and socialism (Psalm 1:1).

This can happen throughout the day, but if we truly understand our mandate from God we will make sure we gather our children for prayer and the reading of God’s word morning and evening. If we are not making this happen, we are too busy with things that are not eternal and will not bring forth fruit for the kingdom of God in this world.

May you be blessed and inspired,

Nancy Campbell

WE MUST PRAY FOR A PREPARED ARMY

PreparedArmy

I am sure, like me, you are praying for hundreds, even thousands to be raised up to be a voice for God’s truth to take the place of God’s faithful servant, Charlie Kirk.

However, praying and thinking about this, I realize that we must pray very specifically. Because of Charlie’s inspiring life there are already many who want to take his place (although no one will ever exactly take his place). There will be many who will rise up to bring the same message, but every person will do it in their own specific way for God has created every person uniquely.

We must pray fervently that God will raise up young men and women, not only to be willing, bold, and courageous, but also PREPARED. It takes a lot more than being willing and excited to get into the fray. It takes much preparation.

I read Isaiah 50:4 this morning: “The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak A word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned,”

Did you notice that phrase, “the tongue of the learned.” Charlie had the “tongue of the learned.” You don’t suddenly get that kind of tongue. You must first learn. The word in the Hebrew is “limmud” and means “taught, trained, skilled.” It means to be a disciple or a student. To have the “tongue of the learned” does not come from haphazard reading of the Bible but from diligent study and training. It comes from waking morning by morning to get up and study God’s word.

Those who want “the tongue of the learned” (especially if they want to follow in Charlie’s footsteps) will not be young people who stay up unnecessarily each night and can’t get up in the morning. They will discipline their lives, so they are ready for God to wake them early. They will immediately get out of bed and run to hear what God has to say to them! They will not be sleeping in like so many young people today.

GW: “Morning by morning he will wake me to listen like a STUDENT.”

NET: “He wakes me up every morning; he makes me alert so I can listen attentively AS DISCIPLES DO.”

Berkeley: “He alerts my ear to hear as a STUDENT.”

What is a student? One who studies. 2 Timothy 2:5 says: “STUDY to show thyself approved unto God, a WORKMAN that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

The word study in this Scripture is “spoudazo.” It is pronounced “spoo-dad-zo.” Such a fun word to say. Try saying it. It means “to make haste, to use speed, to exert oneself, give diligence, labor.” The true student of God doesn’t lie around in bed but gets up and makes haste to his or her “trysting” place where they meet with God.

I know a great teacher of the Word of God (now over eighty years) who still gets up at 4.00 am every morning to study the Scriptures until lunchtime. That’s why we listen to him because he has the “tongue of the learned.”

Dear fellow prayer warriors, I do believe this must be our true burden for prayer. We are all longing for thousands (and even millions) to rise up like Charlie Kirk, but they must prepare. Let’s pray for young people who truly mean business. Those who will daily devour God’s word. Who will long for it. Who will be richly filled with God’s word. Who will press in with all their hearts and who will not only be willing and courageous, but who will be PREPARED so that the Word of God is in their mouth, ready to give an answer (Joshua 1:8; Isaiah 59:21; and 1 Peter 3:15). God wants His word in our minds, our hearts, and our mouths.

Answers only come from those who are steeped in God’s word and who can give God’s answers, not from their own thoughts or ideas.

2 Timothy 2:15 tells us the reason for studying? Not for gaining our own glory, but to be APPROVED UNTO GOD. I think this is the greatest degree for which we should study, the AUG, Approved Unto God!

Let’s pray for a mighty army of soldiers who are truly PREPARED to face the continued war in this nation, the war against woke-ism, Marxism, socialism, humanism, and Isalamism which are all antagonistic to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Blessings from Nancy Campbell

SEEK THE MOST IMPORTANT CAREER

CharliesFam

I love the bold words of Charlie Kirk who encouraged the family and mothers to come home to their great career of nurturing and training the next generation. Who else will rise up now with this most basic and God-inspired message for the salvation of our country?

“Just get married early. Reject the siren song of modernity and have lots of kids (I prefer the word children). Being a partner at a local law firm actually isn’t that big of a deal. Having three kids (children) is a really big deal and will make you happier and it’s okay to be a stay at home mom. In fact, we need a lot of stay at home moms and a lot of women want to be stay at home moms and we have miserable women because we’ve been shuffling them into a corporate wasteland. When in reality, a lot of them don’t find a lot of passion or fulfillment in that line of work. And who can blame them?”

WE HAVE LOST A CHAMPION

HalfMast

I am looking out my window at the big flag on our front lawn. It’s flying at half mast. Along with millions of others we grieve for the loss of a mighty warrior for God. It is so hard to understand, and we are tempted to ask why. And yet we dare not. We will never know the answers to all our “why’s and if we knew the answers we would be like God Himself. He is God and we are called to trust Him.

Trust Him when dark days assail thee,
Trust Him when thy faith is small,
Trust Him when to trust Him
Is the hardest thing of all.

But we all sorrow and God understands our sorrows. And we pray. How we are praying for his beautiful wife and children and loved ones. And for God to do mighty and miraculous things beyond what we could ever ask or think. We are praying that the anointing of Charlie Kirk and his passion and boldness for truth will be multiplied in thousands of young men and women all over this nation and the world. May this tragedy spearhead a mighty revival, especially in our colleges where there is such deception and wokeness.

As I think of the life of Charlie, I think of a great man of God who was also “sold out” to God. Did you ever hear of C. T. Studd? He was one of England’s greatest cricketers. He also inherited a fortune from his wealthy family. But he gave it all away, fame and fortune, to give his life to serve the Lord in China. Here is the one who wrote the lines:

Only one life, twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last!

Although Charlie only lived a short life, he impacted the world more than millions who have lived long lives. And all that he did will last for eternity because he lived for Christ, not for himself. May his life inspire a new level of discipleship in us all.

I read Luke 14:26, 27, 33 this morning and was challenged to the core: “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, HE CANNOT BE MY DISCIPLE. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, CANNOT BE MY DISCIPLE . . . So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, HE CANNOT BE MY DISCIPLE.”

C. T. Studd wrote a little book called THE CHOCOLATE SOLDIER. He had no time for chocolate soldiers who give up when the going gets tough or melt when the heat comes on. He wrote these lines:

For genuine soldiers are heroes
Chocolate soldiers are shams,
The soldiers of Jesus are lions,
Not hares or timid lambs!

He also wrote: “Difficulties, dangers, disease, death, or divisions don't deter any but Chocolates from executing God's will. When someone says there's a lion in the way, the real Christian promptly replies, ‘That's hardly enough inducement for me. I want a bear or two besides to make it worth my while to go.’” It sounds like the same spirit that was upon Charlie Kirk.

And so as we grieve, we also pray. We pray for a new caliber of bold lions to rise up in this nation and across the world. Charlie has led the way. May millions follow.
Thoughts from Nancy Campbell
